Lackawanna River Corridor Association
Membership and Volunteer Opportunities

Membership and Volunteer support is critical to the LRCA’s ability to continue its work to promote the restoration and protection of the Lackawanna River. We are working to improve the trails along the river, the water quality of our river and streams and preserving our natural habitat. We also promote education, scientific research and public involvement in the stewardship of our valley’s natural resources.

Some benefits of becoming a member of the LRCA include discounted rates to special events, receipt of and the opportunity to advertise in our quarterly newsletter, networking opportunities and LRCA T-shirts.

We invite our members to assist in the recruitment of other members as well as volunteering your services in a variety of ways. We have many opportunities for you to socialize with others as we perform monthly trail cleanups, water testing, special events planning (to name a few).  Click the "This Month on the River" link to see what volunteer events are upcoming within the next few weeks.

Members are also invited to attend our Board Meetings, which will enable you to learn first hand what projects are in the works, our accomplishments and our goals for the future.

If you are interested in joining the LRCA as a member, please print and complete the Membership Form.

We also invite students to serve as interns and gain valuable experience and education benefits.

Volunteer activities are integral to the operation of the LRCA. The LRCA needs the dedication of its volunteers to help create engaging, powerful experiences through a clean environment for our local community.

If you can give a few hours per month and are willing to make a commitment, volunteer opportunities are available through our organization. If interested in applying at the LRCA please print and complete a Volunteer Form and send it in to our office.

There are many exciting improvements to our environment occurring as a result of the volunteer support the LRCA has received from the community at large.

Every member or volunteer who takes our cause to heart, our message to the community, and our mission into their lives brings us closer to achieving our goals.

If you are interested in more information for Membership and/or Volunteer opportunities, please contact Jack Coyle at the LRCA office (570) 207-7608 or e-mail lrca@epix.net.
