Bernard McGurl, Executive Director, director@lrca.org
As stewards of our region’s irreplaceable special places, the Lackawanna River Corridor Association (LRCA) and Lackawanna Valley Conservancy (LVC) have stepped forward to ensure the restoration of Scranton’s second oldest structure the Silkman House. We have maintained our offices in the Silkman House since 1996 through a cooperative agreement with the Scranton Public Library. Until recently it served as the Providence Branch (North Scranton) of the Library. Now, with recent changes in library needs, the branch library has closed. We have developed a new Trust arrangement with the City of Scranton to maintain the Silkman House in the public interest for environmental, cultural heritage and educational purposes.
